Chefs Unite to provide meals After Hurricane Melissa
Brian and Matthew bring hope through meals after the hurricane.
transcript
We've all been impacted by the devastation that Hurricane Melissa has left in its trail this week. Yet in moments like these, I'm always blown away by how quickly communities and organizations rally to respond. Within hours, World Central Kitchen and other organizations were on the ground in Jamaica, cooking, coordinating teams, and caring for those who had lost everything. I want to give a special shout out to Chef Corps members Brian and Mathieu and the incredible local volunteers who, in partnership with Mother's Restaurant made and delivered thousands of meals across Jamaica this week. The hope that comes through generosity, through the simple act of sharing a hot meal, is so powerful. So today, in the midst of huge challenges, my hopeful story is about chefs like Brian and Mathieu who have stepped up with nourishment, solidarity, and love for thousands impacted by the storm.
